The other day on a stream I was asked what game I would love to become backward compatible and the only game that came to mind was Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. I used to play the game with my other half all the time, we would always fight over who was going to control Deadpool and what characters we were going to be for the missions. There was 23 player playable characters or 34 with the DLC. My favorite characters to use together where Deadpool, Wolverine, Vemon and Ironman because you could combine their special moves together to get massive damage and kill lots of minions. The story takes two big story lines from the comic books, Secret War and Civil War, which is two of my favorite storylines. There are a couple of problems with the game, one being the AI is bad and you need a friend to play with you. The game spikes in difficulty as well and is harder the closer you get to the end of the game you can just hit a wall. The game stops teaching you stuff about five levels back and it just jumps in difficulty after that. Apart from those problems the game is still fun and lets you play with your favorite marvel characters I don’t know if the graphic stills hold up and I have not played it in a couple of years but if this does get a backward compatible, I would say buy it and give it a go.
Since I originally wrote this they recently released a remastered version on the Xbox One and I’m looking forward to playing both this and the original again. My love for this game and the original made this an instant buy when they released them.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 allows you to select a team of four given characters from a larger pool of heroes and villains. team members may be swapped during mission. The game is played from an isometric dungeon crawl perspective, supporting up to four players simultaneously.
