The Atelier series gets a new title called Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings that revolves around two twin sisters who seek to become the best alchemists in the world. In this game, the synthesis gameplay returns with an all-new feature called the Ambitions Journal that is created by Suelle Marlen — one of the sisters. The other sister, Lydie, helps Suelle to track everything done by them including alchemy, synthesis, battling, and character relations. As more of these tasks are completed more Important Quests are unlocked to help raise their Atelier Rank that assist in taking Promotion Tests.
Anyone getting into the Atelier series for the first time will have an easier time learning the gameplay thanks to Enhancing Agents that add new effects onto synthesized items. Check out some of the screenshots from gameplay underneath the artwork below in order to get an idea of the Synthesis system that also uses Change Agents and Color Adjacent Agents. These screenshots also introduce three new worlds; the imposing boss enemy, Falgior; and a collection of new characters: the famous pirate captain, Backen; the bright, noisy and energetic travelling scriptwriter, Drossel; the travelling puppeteer, Fritz; the ever passionate town Blacksmith, Hagel; and the popular nun from Kirchen Bell, Pamela.
Atelier Lydie & Suelle: Alchemy Exam will be released for the PlayStaton 4 and Nintendo Switch on March 27th, 2018 for North America and March 30th for Europe with the Steam version being released March 27th worldwide.
