The Blackout Club has been announced by Question Games, a team comprised of veteran developers that have worked on BioShock 2, BioShock Infinite, and Dishonored. Seemingly inspired by recent show and movie plots like IT and Stranger Things, a group of teens try to solve the mystery as to why they’re falling unconscious when none of the adults want to believe them. When one of them disappear, they start to get serious and investigate only to find a maze of tunnels with bewitched adults. These kids will need to survive the harsh nights with their intelligence, skills, and improvisation as they attempt to capture evidence of these events on camera to get help.
Four players will get to work together in order in a cooperative scenario and fully customize their variety of powers and equipment loadouts. They’ll also get to use traps to help them outsmart the sleepwalking adults as they try to chase them in procedurally-generated circumstances that are different every time you go out of your house with your buddies. It’s fair to say that this game is a multiplayer-cooperative horror title with elements of supernatural like a relentless predator constantly hunting the kids and can’t be seen otherwise it’s an instant loss.
In The Blackout Club, the horror genre comes home. Our story is about vulnerable heroes – for whom co-op gameplay is a matter of survival – who unite to save their friends. We love expressive systems, where you shape the game experience as you see fit, often versus a whole ecosystem of intelligent threats. And now, they’re right next door – in a familiar, modern town, where the monster wears a human face. We can’t wait for you to meet it.
