Music games are trying to make a comeback out there on the consoles and another one that focuses on getting the indie musicians under the spotlight is a zany one called LOUD on Planet X. This arcade-style rhythm game by Pop Sandbox will feature the likes of Tegan and Sara, Purity Ring, METZ, Metric, Lights, July Talk, F*cked Up, Cadence Weapon, Austra and more for the price of $6.99 USD / $8.99 CAD.
Although it may seem like the standard premise for a rhythm title, the quirkiest thing about it is that aliens are attacking the artists on stage who must defend themselves against the onslaught. The best way to describe LOUD on Planet X is to mix Guitar Hero with Plants vs Zombies, where you’ll utilize makeshift weapons like speakers, strobe lights, fog machines, amplifiers, bouncers and custom special effects. You can play as 14 top current indie music artists in 28 different music tracks (2 tracks per artist) under a 30 level campaign.
LOUD on Planet X will be released for the PlayStation 4 and PC on April 19th, 2016.
