A launch trailer has been released for Akiba’s Beat, the spiritual successor to Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed, and it features a look at the combat and different move-sets of some of the characters in the title. Not only that, we also have a bunch of screenshots from game-play along with character artwork below that will blow you away with development team Acquire’s masterful drawings.
The game centers around a satirical JRPG set in the Akihabara district of Japan where players will battle monsters known as “deluseons” in “Delusionscapes”. The protagonist Asahi Tachibana, a “NEET” who works with others to help rid the district of these deluseons and stop the repeating cycle of the Sunday they’re stuck in. With over 22,000 English and Japanese voiced lines, a party-based action battle system, and a $49.99 and $39.99 price tag (PS4 and PSV, respectively) this game will be a sure-play for any JRPG fans out there looking for a good time and laugh.
I recommend this game for anyone who is interested in Japanese culture, and I believe Western players will experience a fun and unique adventure in Akihabara through this title. The message that I would like to convey through AKIBA’S BEAT is that people should try not to dwell too much on the past, or stick with something just because they’re used to it – there’s still so much to look forward to in the future.
– Kohta Takano, Director of AKIBA’S BEAT at ACQUIRE
